Job Description
The Production Cook is responsible for the large-scale preparation and portioning of meals tailored to senior dietary needs. This role requires a blend of culinary efficiency and a commitment to food safety, ensuring every client receives high-quality nutrition delivered on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
High-Volume Meal Prep: Execute the daily production of large quantities of proteins, grains,
and vegetables following standardized recipes.
Dietary Compliance: Ensure all meals meet specific nutritional guidelines, including low-
sodium, diabetic-friendly, or texture-modified requirements.
Quality Control: Monitor the taste, temperature, and appearance of food to ensure every
meal meets company standards before packaging.
Safe Food Handling: Maintain a pristine workstation and strictly follow health department
regulations, including proper labeling, rotation (FIFO), and temperature logging.
Portioning & Packaging: Assist in the efficient assembly line process to portion meals
accurately and consistently.
Kitchen Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Chef and packing team to manage
production schedules and minimize food waste.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
Heavy Lifting: Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry kitchen equipment and food
supplies weighing 50 lbs.
Stamina: Ability to stand and move about the kitchen for long hours (full shift duration).
Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and twist frequently to access storage, ovens, and
inventory.
Environment: Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with
exposure to heat and cold.
Drive: This position may require errands to the store or delivering meals to clients
Qualifications
Proven experience in high-volume food production (catering, healthcare, or institutional
settings).
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
A compassionate, service-oriented mindset dedicated to the well-being of senior citizens.
Valid Driver's License
